The Church on Spilled Blood

So named because the church was built on the spot where Tsar Alexander II was assassinated in 1881.
My camera couldn't seem to get enough of this place . . .
I could have stared at the intricate details for hours.
This church sits on the canal, beside a cool, green and glorious park.

I took photos of it from all side and every angle I possibly could. When I got back to the ship, I realized I had a ridiculous number of pictures, but it was great fun at the time. My favorites are on this page.








The domes were created with jeweler's enamel which is, I guess, how they retain their amazing color.
